Ports for External Client Access

Description:

This article shows you what ports need to be open in order to use external access for Monitor Station, Web Client, and VI Mobile.
 

Solutions:

    • Monitor Station, Web Client and VI Mobile (Versions 4.0 to 6.3)

        • HTTP Port: 80
        • (Default) Data Port: 4010
        • (Default) Command Port: 4011
    • Legacy Web Client (Version 3.1 and older)

        • HTTP Port: 80
        • (Default) Analog Port: 4000
        • (Default) ActiveX Video Port: 11111

    • Legacy Network Client (Version 3.1 and older)

        • (Default) Analog Port: 4000
        • (Default) IP Data Port: 4010
        • (Default) IP Command Port: 4011

Cannot Create Folder Due to Permission or Non-Existing Directory

Description:

Possible Issues/Solutions:

    • This can occur when:

      • The destination where video files are being stored has become invalid.

        • Verify the directory exist by using Windows Explorer.

      • The server does not have permission to write to the specified directory.

        • Verify the server has permission to write to the specified directory using Windows Explorer. 

      • The connection to the network drive has been disconnected.

        • Verify the server has connection to the network drive by using Windows Explorer.

Installing the VI Language Pack

NOTE: Language Pack only supports Arabic and Spanish only in VI Monitor v6.0.x and above

1.) In Start > Control Panel > Region and Language, choose the appropriate language from the drop-down labeled Format.

2.) Download the VI Language Pack from downloadvi.com (http://downloadvi.com/downloads/Current/Language/VI_Language_Package.exe)

3.) Run the installation using typical settings.

4.) Finally, restart VI Monitor and verify that the language has changed.

 

What is Health Monitor Cloud?

The Health Monitor Cloud is an application used to monitor the health of one or all of your servers.

It is peace of mind knowing a passively running server is there to monitor and ensure your video surveillance servers are running and cameras are recording to minimize the risk associated with a down server or camera.

To complete the risk mitigation and disaster recovery associated with your security initiative you may also want to consider installing a Failover server, discussed on page 26 in the Admin Guide.

Solution:

  1. Log into MonitorCast by browsing to https:// [Server IP Address]:8080
  2. When prompted enter the Username and Password to gain access
  3. On the left tree click on Hardware and then Hardware Config
  4. Click on Default ControllerGroup or the specified created ControllerGroup
  5. Click on the pencil/paper icon on the right of ControllerGroup and select New Controller
  6. Select ControllerGroup, Name, and enter the IP addres of the controller
  7. Click Save

How to Factory Reset Advidia Cameras That Have a Physical Reset Button

Description:

This article shows you how to hard reset or factory reset Advidia cameras that have a physical button.
 
 
Solution:
 

Advidia A-Series with physical reset buttons:   A-15 / A-35 / A-44 / A-44-IR / A-44-IR-V2 / A-46 / A-47 / A-54 / A-54-OD / A-54-V2 / A-55 / A-64 / A-65

Advidia B-Series with physical reset buttons:   B-31 / B-33 / B-51

Advidia E-Series with physical reset buttons:   E-37-V

Advidia VP-Series with physical reset buttons: VP-4 / VP-8 / VP-16

    • Steps:

1.  With the unit powered on, press and hold the reset button on back of unit (or under the dome) for 30 seconds.

2.  Without releasing the reset button, unplug the power cable and hold reset for another 30 seconds.

          • If it is a PoE camera, disconnect the network cable.

3.  Plug the power cable back in while STILL holding the reset button a final 30 seconds.

          • If it is a PoE camera, plug in the network cable.
 

Advidia B-Series with physical reset buttons:   B-210 / B-5360

    • Steps:

1.  With the unit powered on, press and hold the reset button on back of unit (or under the dome) for 30 seconds or until the blue LED (underneath the camera module) lights up.

 

Advidia P-Series with physical reset buttons:   P-24 / P-25 / P-3360-OD

    • Steps:

1.  With the unit powered off, hold down the initial set button.

2.  Plug the power cable back in while STILL holding the initial set button for 5 seconds or more.

3.  The camera will start up after about 2 minutes of taking off the INITIAL SET button and the settings including the network settings will be initialized.

 

Advidia P-Series with physical reset buttons:   P-240

    • Steps:

1.  With the unit powered off, move the initial set switch to the ON position.

2.  Power on the camera.

          • The camera will start up and all the settings including the network settings will be initialized. The live indicator will light orange → light off → blink orange → light orange.  The initialization will be complete when the live indicator lights orange.

3.  Power off the camera.

          • Do not turn off the power of the camera during initialization. Otherwise, it may fail to initialize and may cause malfunction.

4.  With the unit powered off, move the initial set switch to the OFF position.

5.  Power on the camera.

 

This will revert all settings including the network back to defaults.  For the camera's default IP address, please visit Advidia's support site: Advidia Camera & Encoder Support

 

NOTE:  The following cameras do NOT have physical reset buttons: A-14 / A-34 / A-34W / A-45 / A-200 / A-200-P / VP-1 / VP-16-L / VP-8-V2 / VP-16-V2

How to Integrate a Keypad into Monitorcast

• Log into MonitorCast
• Mouse over the Hardware tab
• Click Hardware Config
• Navigate through the left tree down to the Reader that has the Keypad
• Click on the Reader in the left tree
• In the main window, click Advanced Reader Settings (will expand settings)
• Use the drop down next to Reader Keypad Mode to select desired keypad type
• Click Save
• Mouseover Controller in left tree and click the options button to the right of the controller
• Click Reset Controller to push new information to the controller
• Once reset is complete have customer use keypad and should receive multiple tones after inputting key code. Multiple tones indicate that keypad is integrated.
• If multiple tones are not outputted use a different keypad type and reset

Setting up a 1501 Controller Step by Step Guide

• Move DIP switch 2 to the ON position to use factory default communication parameters:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
IP Address: 192.168.0.251
Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS: 192.168.0.1
Host port: IP Server, no encryption, port 3001
Communications address:0

* NIC on computer must set to connect to the default settings

• Open Command Window
• Type ping 192.168.0.251 -t (this will put a constant ping on the controller)
• Power on the controller
• Check ping to see when controller comes online
• Once online, move DIP switch 2 to the OFF position and DIP switch 1 to the ON position, this will enable the default user info
• Open Internet Explorer
• Enter 192.168.0.251 in the address bar
• Hit Enter
• The Mercury Security login screen will appear, click "Click Here to Login"
• Enter the default user info: User Name: admin, password: password
• Click Login
• Once EP1501 Configuration Manager loads click the Users tab in the left tree
• Click the New User button in the Users section
• Move all DIP Switches to the OFF position
• Enter User Name, Password, and Password again
• Click Save
• User will now appear in the Users list
• Click the Network tab in the left tree
• Enter IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, and DNS info
• Click Accept (this will not push setting to board)
• Click the Apply Settings tab
• Click the Apply Settings, Reboot button (this will push the settings to the board)
• In Command Prompt window type: ping NEW IP OF BOARD -t (this will put a constant ping on the controller)
• Once board registers setup is complete

1. Log into MonitorCast: http://localhost:8080/ | Default UN: admin PW: 1234
2. Hover over Hardware
3. Click Hardware Config
4. Next to Default Site, click the Edit icon
5. Click Add New Controller
6. Name the Controller
7. Select the Controller Type: EP2500, EP1501, or EP1502
8. Type in the IP Address
9. Click Save
10. Restart AC Server

How to add a Sub-Controller to MonitorCast Software

Description:

This article walks you through adding a sub-controller into the MonitorCast WebClient application.

 

Solution:

  1. Log into MonitorCast by browsing to https:// [Server IP Address]:8080
  2. When prompted enter the Username and Password to gain access
  3. On the left tree click on Hardware and then Hardware Config
  4. Expand the Default ControllerGroup or the specified created ControllerGroup
  5. Click on the pencil/paper icon on the right of the master controller and select Add New SubController
  6. Enter controller name, select Controller,  select Sub-Controller type, enter Sub-Controller address.
  7. Click Save

 

Note: The SubController address will be based on the dip switch configuration on the SubController board.
