Description:
This article describes how to give the IPEntService administrative logon permissions. This gives the service full permissions to properly write to NAS devices and other UNC paths.
Symptom:
- IP Server is not recording to a NAS or UNC path.
- IP Server stops recording to NAS or UNC path after upgrading to a new version.
Possible Issues/Solutions:
- Steps:
1. On the server that houses the IP Service, open Windows Services by navigating to Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services.
2. Locate IP Video Enterprise from the list of services.
3. Right-click the service and choose Properties.
4. Click the Log On tab.
5. Tick the radio button that reads This Account.
6. In the first field, provide an administrator account that has local administrative rights to the server.
- This same account must also have Read/Write permissions to the NAS or UNC path.
- The account may be a Domain Admin or Local Administrator user, so long as either account meets these requirements.
7. In the second and third fields, provide the password for the account used in Step 6.
- This password will have to match the account password that is used to gain administrative access to the NAS or UNC path.
8. Click Apply>OK.
9. Restart the IP Video Enterprise service by right-clicking the service and choosing Restart.
